Our Safety Procedures

These are the core operational safety procedures followed by every member of our team on every project — without exception.

Equipment Inspection

  1. Pre-Shift Visual Inspection Every machine and tool is visually checked by the assigned technician before the shift begins. Damage, leaks, or abnormalities are reported immediately.
  2. Functional Operational Check Machines are run through a brief no-load test to confirm controls, brakes, guards, and speed regulation are functioning correctly.
  3. Calibration Verification Measuring instruments, gauges, and precision tools are verified against calibration records before any critical machining work begins.
  4. Lockout / Tagout (LOTO) Any equipment undergoing maintenance is locked out and tagged to prevent accidental energisation — no exceptions.
  5. Post-Shift Close-Down Machines are shut down properly, fluids checked, work areas cleared, and any defects noted in the maintenance log for follow-up.

Hazard Identification & Mitigation

  1. Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) Before every new job type or project, a formal Job Hazard Analysis is completed, identifying all potential hazards and the controls in place.
  2. Toolbox Talk A daily toolbox briefing is held with all technicians at the start of each shift — reviewing the day's tasks, risks, and any change in site conditions.
  3. Near-Miss Reporting All near-miss incidents are reported and reviewed. No blame culture — reporting is encouraged to prevent future incidents.
  4. Housekeeping Standards Work areas are kept clean, walkways clear, and materials stored correctly at all times. Spills are addressed immediately.
  5. Chemical and Fluid Safety All industrial fluids, solvents, and lubricants are labelled, stored in approved containers, and handled with appropriate PPE and ventilation.

Emergency Response Protocol

  1. Immediate Danger Stoppage All personnel have authority to stop work immediately if they observe an unsafe condition. Production never takes priority over safety.
  2. First Aid Response Trained first-aiders are present during all operational hours. First-aid kits are stocked and inspected monthly. Locations are clearly signposted.
  3. Evacuation Procedure Clear evacuation routes are posted throughout the facility. Assembly points are designated. Bi-annual drills keep all staff prepared.
  4. Incident Reporting & Investigation Any injury or incident triggers a formal investigation within 24 hours. Root causes are identified and corrective actions implemented.
  5. Emergency Contacts Emergency service numbers, management contacts, and client emergency liaisons are posted at all workstations and carried by field supervisors.

Training & Competency

  1. Safety Induction — All New Staff Every new employee completes a structured safety induction before touching any equipment. No exceptions, regardless of prior experience.
  2. Machine-Specific Authorisation Staff are only permitted to operate machinery for which they have been formally trained and assessed. Authorisation is documented.
  3. Refresher Training Programme All staff complete annual safety refresher training covering current procedures, updates to regulations, and lessons from incident reviews.
  4. Supervisor Safety Oversight Supervisors conduct weekly walk-throughs to observe and coach safe work practices, reinforcing the culture from the top down.
  5. Apprentice Mentoring System Junior technicians are paired with experienced mentors who are accountable for ensuring correct and safe technique from day one.
