What We Do
AutoBore Pro's welding and fabrication division handles structural steel repair, heavy equipment reinforcement, bore build-up preparation, and custom metal fabrication — all delivered to industrial standards.
This is not light workshop welding. Our team works with high-tensile steel structures, cracked excavator frames, marine components, and precision bore surfaces where quality and structural integrity are non-negotiable.
Our Capabilities
Four distinct service lines — each designed for industrial-scale work where precision and structural integrity matter most.
The critical first step in bore restoration. When bore walls are worn beyond direct machining limits, we rebuild the surface using controlled MIG welding before precision boring. This is where welding and line boring work as one integrated service.
Cracked frames, stress-fractured booms, and damaged mounting points on construction and mining machinery require more than a patch weld. We carry out full structural assessment, controlled pre-heat procedures, and engineered repair sequences for critical load-bearing components.
Our field welding teams are fully mobilised with generator-powered industrial welding units, PPE, and consumables — ready to deploy to your construction site, mine, port, or facility anywhere in Nigeria. No workshop visit required.
From one-off machine components to production batches of structural brackets, our fabrication workshop produces quality steel work to drawing or sample. We work with mild steel, high-tensile plate, and structural sections — cut, formed, and welded to specification.
Technical Capability
Industrial clients need to know exactly what materials we work with and which processes we use. Here is our full technical capability.
Standard structural steel for brackets, frames, plates, and general fabrication. Most common material across all our welding services.
Specialist high-strength steel used in excavator booms, crane structures, and load-bearing components. Requires pre-heat and controlled cooling procedures.
Engine blocks, gear housings, and machinery castings repaired using specialist cast iron welding procedures with pre-heat, controlled weld sequencing, and slow cool-down.
Hard-facing and overlay welding on bucket teeth, cutting edges, and wear plates to extend service life in high-abrasion applications.
Primary process for structural repair, bore build-up, and fabrication work. High deposition rate, excellent fusion, and consistent quality for mild and high-tensile steel.
Stick welding for field operations and structural repair where portability and flexibility are essential. Ideal for site work and awkward access positions.
Precision TIG process for thin sections, root passes, and applications requiring the highest weld quality and appearance — stainless steel and critical components.
Specialist wear-resistant overlay welding to restore and protect high-abrasion surfaces on buckets, cutting edges, and conveyor components.
How We Work
A structured, safety-compliant process that ensures every weld meets structural integrity requirements — not just visual appearance.
Every job starts with a thorough structural inspection of the component. We identify all cracks, wear zones, and failure points before any work begins — and document the full scope of repair required.
Correct surface preparation is the foundation of a strong, lasting weld. All surfaces are cleaned, ground, and — where required — pre-heated to prevent heat cracking in high-tensile and cast materials.
Welding is carried out using the correct process, consumables, and parameters for the material and application. On structural and high-tensile steel, we follow controlled interpass temperature procedures to prevent distortion and cracking.
After welding, excess weld material is dressed and shaped to the required profile. Where additional reinforcement plates or gussets are required, these are fabricated and fitted as part of the repair sequence.
Every completed weld or fabrication is inspected against the agreed specification before being returned to service. We provide a job completion record for all structural repairs, giving you full traceability and documentation.
Our Workshop Arsenal
The right equipment makes the difference between a patch job and an engineered repair. Here is what we bring to every project.
Heavy-duty MIG welding machines for high-deposition structural repair and bore build-up work — capable of continuous operation on large section thickness.
Precision TIG units for cast iron repair, stainless steel work, and applications requiring the highest weld quality and integrity.
High-output generators powering our field welding units on remote construction sites, mines, and ports where no mains power is available.
Full range of industrial grinding and cutting equipment for surface preparation, weld dressing, crack removal, and finishing operations.
Oxy-acetylene and induction pre-heat equipment for controlled heating of high-tensile steel and cast iron before and after welding.
Digital calipers, bore gauges, straight edges, and temperature probes — for verifying dimensions before, during, and after every weld repair.
Safety Compliance: All welding operations are conducted under AutoBore Pro's HSE safety protocols. Field welding teams carry full PPE, fire suppression equipment, and work permits. All structural repairs are documented with a written completion record.
Proven Results
A major stress fracture in the lower boom section of a Komatsu PC400 excavator was discovered during routine inspection on a busy road project. The machine was grounded — site operations halted.
On-site crack removal, full-penetration MIG repair weld with pre-heat, followed by engineered reinforcement plate installation across the repair zone. Weld completed in a controlled sequence to minimise distortion.
Machine returned to full operation within 16 hours. Structural integrity confirmed by dimensional check. Client avoided a 3-week lead time for boom replacement.
Severely worn boom pin bores on a rough-terrain crane at a port facility — bore worn 8mm oversize, well beyond direct machining limits. Standard line boring alone was not possible.
Bore surfaces built up using controlled MIG welding with heat management to prevent boom distortion. After cure, the bore was precision machined by our line boring team to the correct finished diameter.
Crane returned to certified lifting operations. Weld build-up plus bore machining delivered at a fraction of the cost of a replacement boom assembly.
A power facility required 12 custom heavy-duty steel mounting frames for new generator sets — no standard off-the-shelf product existed. Required fabrication to engineering drawing with vibration-isolation bolt patterns.
All 12 frames fabricated in mild steel to supplied drawings. Frames cut, formed, and welded in our workshop — hot-dip primed and delivered to site for installation within the project schedule.
All 12 frames delivered on time and to specification. Generators installed and commissioned successfully. Client placed a repeat order for 8 additional frames one month later.
The AutoBore Advantage
Many welders can run a bead. Very few bring industrial engineering knowledge, structural integrity focus, and the backing of a full precision machining workshop to every welding job.
Our team has years of experience on heavy equipment, structural steel, and precision bore repair — not domestic or light commercial welding work.
Generator-powered welding units deployed to your site — construction, mining, marine, or oil & gas. We come to you, wherever you are in Nigeria.
We don't just weld — we engineer the repair. Pre-heat, sequence planning, correct process selection, and post-weld inspection are standard on every structural job.
Plant breakdown doesn't wait. Our mobilisation teams are ready to respond rapidly to emergency structural failures that are stopping your operations.
Bore build-up welding feeds directly into our line boring service — one team, one job, zero handover delays. The only company in Nigeria offering this fully integrated capability.
